THE PREDICTION

A fierce South Wales derby sees plenty at stake as third-placed Swansea host ninth-placed Cardiff with the Bluebirds only six points away from the playoff places. The Swans meanwhile, sit three points adrift of second-placed Watford heading into the weekend’s matches although Steve Cooper’s side do have a game in hand on the Hornets. The hosts are coming off the back of a comprehensive 3-0 defeat away to Bournemouth, whilst Cardiff have failed to win in their last three league matches. This is no doubt likely to be a very tight affair with little expected to separate the two teams. For that reason, under 2.5 goals looks the smart play when considering that both teams will prioritise avoiding defeat vs their biggest rivals which could lead to a cagey encounter with little in the way of end-to-end attack between the two sides.
