THE PREDICTION

Sheffield Wednesday fought valiantly on Good Friday, but ultimately fell to a 1-0 loss away to second-placed Watford. Darren Moore can take heart from his side’s performance however and with their hopes of survival starting to drift away, they simply need to record three points over Cardiff at Hillsborough. Mick McCarthy’s Bluebirds were downed by Nottingham Forest last time out, beaten 0-1 in what was a very poor performance that leaves them five points adrift of the top six. McCarthy will expect a reaction from his team vs the Owls and the Sheff Wed defence will have to be at their best from a physical perspective. With the hosts no doubt set to fight tooth and nail for every ball, putting in maximum effort despite their lack of quality, this is sure to be close encounter despite the huge gap between both sides in the league table. Therefore, under 2.5 goals should prove the sensible play.
