THE PREDICTION

Just two days after beating QPR 3-1, relegation battlers Rotherham host fellow strugglers Coventry as they catch up on all their games in hand. Whilst many would normally say that games in hand at this stage of the season are huge advantages, for Rotherham it may prove the opposite. Paul Warne’s side are not the strongest, nor the biggest squad and having been struck down by a wave of Covid-19 within their camp only last month, the signs are that they still haven’t fully recovered physically despite their excellent win on Tuesday night. With fatigue expected to be a factor for the hosts, 21st-placed Coventry know that they have a golden opportunity to win here and extend their lead over 22nd-placed Rotherham to a daunting nine points. However, with so much at stake in this one, Coventry aren’t expected to take any unnecessary risks in order to achieve those three points and will likely look to soak up pressure early on and attempt to grow into the game as Rotherham tire. Either way, under 2.5 goals scored should prove a shrewd play with Rotherham having failed to find the net in their last four league matches and Coventry scoring just twice in their past five away fixtures.
