THE PREDICTION

Following a surprise 0-1 victory away at Bristol City for Aitor Karanka’s side, Birmingham face a second away trip in four days, this time to Reading. The Royals are seemingly well over the sudden blip which followed such a strong start to the season and they are now unbeaten in their last four league games, sitting well inside the Championship playoff places. As is standard with an Aitor Karanka managed side, Birmingham will set up compact and well organised, making it very difficult for Reading to break through them. However, whilst a low scoring contest is anticipated, Reading have the likes of Lucas Joao and Yakou Meite to call upon, who perhaps contain that ruthless cutting edge that Bristol City have lacked at times and it’s this cutting edge that may prove the difference here, with Reading ultimately sneaking a narrow victory.
