THE PREDICTION

Rotherham travel to Preston off the back of a crucial 3-0 win over fellow relegation battlers Derby, lifting them to within two points of safety. Their opponents continue to frustrate with their inconsistency, having lost their last two league games. Alex Neil’s side are can never quite manage to put together an extended run that would see them emerge as serious playoff contenders. After a busy transfer window that most notably for Preston saw them lose central defender Ben Davies to Premier League champions Liverpool, a Lilywhites side with a number of new faces are expected to line-up against the Millers. Whilst the hosts look potent on paper going forward, defensively it may take time for them to adapt without Davies and it would not be a surprise to see the visitors find the net at least once here. With that in mind, both teams to score should be seriously considered in this match.
