THE PREDICTION
Defeat away at Blackburn this past Friday piles on the pressure for Derby as they fight to avoid relegation. The Rams currently sit it 21st-place having lost their last three league games and are only four points clear of safety at present. Facing Preston presents an opportunity to accrue points against a side whose season is virtually over already due to being sat safe in midtable. However, the argument doesn’t bear fruit when considering that Blackburn were in a similar situation. Derby will need to take the game to Preston in a bid to gain the three points, although this may well see them leave space in behind for the hosts to take advantage of from an attacking perspective. With that in mind, both teams to score should be favoured in this one.
