THE PREDICTION
Despite Wycombe coming up short in their battle to avoid relegation, they are determined to go down swinging and proved it last weekend after securing an excellent 1-0 win at home to top-six side Bournemouth. Gareth Ainsworth’s men face a long trip up north here to face Middlesbrough who have accrued seven points from their last three Championship fixtures. Recently matches involving the hosts have been largely entertaining with the Teesiders being stuck in midtable perhaps a factor in Neil Warnock affording his side more attacking freedom going forward. Middlesbrough’s most recent four fixtures have seen not only both teams score, but over 2.5 goals in three of them. Over 2.5 goals have also been scored in five of Wycombe’s last six league matches and it would be a surprise if the same outcome wasn’t to occur in this one, regardless of who comes out on top.
