THE PREDICTION
To say that Mick McCarthy will be demanding a reaction from his players in this match would be an understatement, after his Cardiff side were thrashed 5-0 by lowly Sheffield Wednesday this past Monday. Two successive Championship defeats have now left the Bluebirds’ hopes of a playoff place sinking without a trace and only victory here against Blackburn will be deemed an acceptable result for them this weekend. Blackburn have failed to win in their past six Championship matches and manager Tony Mowbray has come under heavy criticism from frustrated fans who are watching their side play out the season with a whimper. However, the visitors will be afforded chances here as Cardiff are likely to sacrifice a portion of defensive stability in order to try and create more clear-cut opportunities in this match.
