THE PREDICTION

Blackburn are coming off the back of a fantastic derby victory in midweek, after beating ten man Preston 0-3 at Deepdale. The result was a real boost for Tony Mowbray’s side, who have now won two of their last three Championship matches. They face Barnsley, who came unstuck against Brentford last time out losing 0-1 at Oakwell. The Tykes will look to bounce back here, but will have to defend well against a Rovers team with serious firepower going forward, including perennial goalscorer Adam Armstrong. Blackburn however, have found it harder this season against sides like Barnsley who will likely press them relentlessly and not give them any room for manoeuvre. The visitors have seen under 2.5 goals scored in their last three Championship matches and providing the busy fixture schedule hasn’t seriously affected the overall fitness of their first choice XI, this match is expected to go the same way.
