THE PREDICTION
These two teams come into this match off the back of very different results. Whilst Birmingham secured a shock 0-1 victory away at Middlesbrough, Preston were beaten 2-0 by Bristol City at Ashton Gate. However, for Birmingham this contest will prove a different challenge entirely with the match being held at St Andrew’s. The Blues have lost seven of their last eight home matches and face a side who have won six Championship games away from home this season. Such a poor home record will automatically spread doubt into the minds of the Birmingham players and should Preston score first, then heads are bound to drop within the Birmingham side. Alex Neil’s Lilywhites will look to start the game on the front foot and having already made a number of shrewd signings in the January window, has some impressive depth within his squad to utilise both from the start and off the bench. With this in mind, consider the visitors draw no bet.
