Heracles grabbed a creditable point in a 1-1 draw away at Sparta Rotterdam last Saturday after an opening day defeat by a top side in PSV. NEC are in a similar position but went one better with a first top flight win since 2017, 2-0 at home to struggling PEC Zwolle, making up for their opening day thrashing at the hands of Ajax. The two have not faced each other competitively since NEC’s last Eredivisie campaign in 2017 so with little recent history to go on this looks a tough call. Heracles will be expecting at least a point here but NEC’s win could grant the confidence needed to make a big statement on the road. It should be taken with a big pinch of salt, but NEC won this fixture 0-1 in a pre-season friendly this time last month so double chance for the away side looks a shrewd move here.
