THE PREDICTION
Anderlecht backed up their excellent 7-2 result at home to Mechelen after the international break with a solid 0-1 win away at Standard Liege to move within four points of the top of the table. Vincent Kompany’s side looked to have been struggling with Europa Conference League football with their results picking up considerably since and they are notoriously tough to beat at home in the Belgian Pro League. Travelling Gent are still in the Europa Conference League themselves, where they have four wins this season, but that does seem to be affecting their league form too as they sit just above the relegation zone after seven matches played. This game in-hand is vital for both sides but with Anderlecht winning their last two at home and Gent losing their last three on the road, take the hosts to avoid defeat here with a cautious double chance.
