Twente come into this one on the back of a 2-1 win away to Ajax. Queensy Menig’s brace saw off the Dutch champions who had fielded a very strong side and it wasn’t weakened ahead of their disappointing defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League. This impressive result managed to make many forget their frankly bizarre 2-0 defeat at home to Waalwijk just a week earlier - their only home defeat of the season. They are against a side who will likely be without Bruno Martins Indi following an injury he picked up in their 2-1 defeat to Rijeka. AZ named a strong XI in that Europa League defeat because it was decisive in their potential progression to the knockouts. AZ would’ve needed just a point if Sociedad didn’t win away at Napoli and La Real were 1-0 down as they entered stoppage time whilst AZ were level at Rijeka. A Real Sociedad equaliser followed by a Rijeka winner in injury time meant the gamble of a strong XI didn’t pay off. The home side will fancy their chances of piling on the misery for the visitors.
