THE PREDICTION
Sparta Rotterdam come into this game after back-to-back wins against Emmen and Willem II. Sparta remain ensconced solidly in mid-table; something that would be considered a success should it be the outcome for them at the end of the season. The home side have only one of their last five with a 1-0 defeat away to PSV Eindhoven being sandwiched by two wins either side. They come up against a Groningen side who continue to exceed pre-season expectations even without the injured Arjen Robben. They were knocked out of the cup in midweek but have won their last three league games and are unbeaten in four in the Eredivisie. They’ve only lost one since September. No Groningen game has had over four goals in it this season whilst only three have had had more than three. Sparta haven’t kept a clean sheet outside of a fortnight run against lowly Waalwijk and Den Haag. Groningen will fancy their chances of controlling the game and making it four straight wins.
