The prize for winning the CONCACAF Champions League will be a confirmed spot at the expanded 2026 FIFA Club World Cup. Club Leon are the more experienced team at this level having had deep runs into the competition but they haven’t won the tournament yet. They now face a Los Angeles FC side that, under the management of Steve Cherundolo, have been exceptional in recent seasons. Leon head into this first-leg on the back of being comfortably beaten 3-1 by Atletico San Luis, at the start of May.
