THE PREDICTION
After back-to-back CONCACAF Champions League triumphs, Palmeiras will be turning their attention to domestic success in 2022. Abel Ferreira’s side come into this on the back of a 5-0 hammering of Independiente Petrolero in the group stages of the Copa Libertadores during the midweek, extending their winning streak to four matches and unbeaten run to six matches in all competitions. They have scored 22 goals in those six games and they have scored 28 in their last eight. They now come up against a Fluminense side that come into this on the back of back-to-back defeats as they sit in the bottom-half. The visitors did manage an important 2-1 win at home to Atletico Junior in the Copa Sudamericana in midweek. Both teams scoring looks a good bet for this one.
