THE PREDICTION
Antonio Mohamed's reigning Brazilian Serie A champions, Atletico Mineiro, come into this on the back of a Copa Libertadores group stage match at home to Deportes Tolima, which followed a slender 1-0 win away to Brasiliense in the third round of the Copa do Brasil last weekend. They have started the defence of their Serie A title quite well with just one defeat in their opening seven matches so far. They now come up against an Avai side that, following promotion last season, have been fairly strong so far but back-to-back defeats have seen them slip down towards the middle-of-the-table. Atletico will come into this one as the firm favourites.
