Mechelen beat Antwerp 3-2 in an exciting opening day fixture but since then three defeats on the spin to RFC Seraing, AS Eupen and Gent looks like something coming off the rails. They now face newly-promoted Second Division champions Union Saint-Gilloise, who find themselves at the top of the Belgian Pro League after four matches. Losing only to Club Brugge so far, Saint-Gilloise made it back-to-back wins to nil over Beerschot and most recently Kortrijk with Deniz Undav in joint-second of the top-scorers table with four goals already. Taking Union’s German forward as anytime goalscorer seems a decent option here, especially as Mechelen are letting in a fair few goals as things stand.
