Both Kortrijk and Mechelen snapped their Belgian Pro League losing streaks last weekend to make this look a really competitive Friday night fixture. Hosts Kortrijk were top of the league after two matches with a blistering start but back-to-back losses to Genk and Union Saint-Gilloise looked like a sudden decline until Saturday’s 0-2 win away at Sint-Truiden. Mechelen had gone one match further into their losing streak with three on the spin before they managed to halt Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1 at home on Sunday. With neither side seeing a draw yet this season this looks a really tough result to call.
