THE PREDICTION
Gent took the lead at Anderlecht on Thursday evening before having to settle for a 1-1 draw at a notoriously tough place to go. They are winless in three league games but they remain the only team to beat Club Brugge this season in a 6-1 hammering before the international break and that has to count for something. Travelling Cercle Brugge are in a worse place with just one win from their last five Belgian Pro League games after a 1-2 loss at home to AS Eupen last Friday. Gent’s best performances have come at home and Cercle Brugge’s best have come on the road so this could end up something of a stalemate. Taking the hosts to avoid defeat with double chance and both teams to score looks a solid option here for those reasons. Both teams have scored in three of Gent’s last four home league games and three of Cercle’s last four away league games.
