THE PREDICTION
Melbourne Victory are coming off their worst ever A-League finish so they will be desperate to do much better in this new campaign. Interim boss Grant Bebner secured the job on a full-time basis and has made several high-profile signings bringing in the likes of Callum McManaman, Rudy Gestede and Jacob Butterfield who will bolster the side significantly. They welcome a Brisbane Roar side who lost their opening game to Victory’s rivals Melbourne City and it was not the most inspiring of performances by Warren Moon’s men. New signing Riku Danzaki impressed but they still have plenty of work to do offensively especially. Victory have been participating in the AFC Champions League and that will ensure they are sharp enough to start the A-League season fast and they are favoured to take the points here.
