THE PREDICTION
The first ‘Superclásico’ of the season comes from the Estadio Alberto José Armando as Boca Juniors host River Plate in what is always the most eagerly anticipated contest of the Argentinian campaign. Both these teams come into this match off the back of dramatically differing results. Whilst Boca are fresh from thrashing Velez Sarsfield 1-7, River Plate suffered a shock 0-1 defeat last time out to Argentinos Juniors which leaves them currently on six points so far this season. As always in such a charged encounter, emotions are bound to be high and whilst plenty aggression will be on show, both teams will be well aware of the ramifications that defeat to their biggest rivals would bring and as a result are likely to play extra cautiously in a bid to avoid losing first and foremost. This will no doubt have an effect on the contest from an offensive standpoint, with goalmouth action likely to be at a premium so when taking that into consideration, under 2.5 goals scored over the course of the 90 minutes appears the shrewd play.
