THE PREDICTION
Ronny Deila’s New York City are the reigning MLS Cup champions but they started their 2022 campaign quite slowly. The home team have, though, recovered quite well and they come into this on the back of a 3-0 hammering of San Jose Earthquakes last weekend. That was NYCFC’s third successive MLS victory - a run of form in which they have scored 14 goals. They now come up against a Sporting Kansas City side that come into this on the back of a really poor start to the campaign. The visitors have managed just two victories in their opening ten matches. NYCFC, especially with home advantage, will come into this one as the relatively comfortable favourites.
