Los Angeles come into this with last season’s league top goalscorer still at the club and the return of their captain following his refusal to play at the MLS Is Back tournament in 2020. Diego Rossi and Carlos Vela has often been a level above the rest of the country so their seventh-placed finish last season will frustrate them. They have also added Kim Moon-hwan to bolster their defence. They come up against the newest franchise in Austin entering their first MLS season. The Texas side have created what looks to be a hard-working playing staff with the likes of Alexander Ring, Sebastian Berhalter and Tomas Pochettino. They should find their first match quite difficult and a home win looks likely in this match.
