Russia’s group phase begins on the back of an aforementioned impressive qualifying campaign. It was a campaign built upon a relatively high-scoring plan and they have seven players with more than one under-21 goal in the squad. That attacking plan will be reliant on the form of full international Fyodor Chalov who has ten in twenty U21 appearances. Iceland come into the tournament with nine full internationals and ten players with ten or more caps. Their attacking outlet will be led by Eidur Gudjohnsen’s son, Sveinn. Russia will be the favoured side for this one with their experienced squad.
