THE PREDICTION
Iceland’s 4-1 defeat away to Russia was fair. Perhaps the clustered nature of the first-half goals flatters the Russians and is harsh on Iceland but the Icelandic men were reasonably beaten. Prior to the tournament, though, Sveinn Gudjohnsen was ear-marked as their main threat and he did manage to notch a goal. Denmark come into this on the back of a shock 1-0 win against France with Midtjylland midfielder Anders Dreyer scoring with 15 minutes to go. It is a result that gives the Danes a huge opportunity to qualify with a victory in this one. However, a result could still be quite close to call but it should be low-scoring.
