THE PREDICTION
It has been a very impressive campaign for Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis this season. However, they have stumbled in the last month or so, being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League and then dropping out of the top four around the same time. Betis shared a goalless draw away to Real Betis last weekend before facing Elche in midweek. They haven’t won the Copa del Rey since the 2004/05 campaign. They now come up against a Valencia side that, under the management of Jose Bordalas, have performed relatively well but sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table this season. The eight-time Copa del Rey winners won their most recent cup in 2019, under Marcelino. Bordalas is likely to try and frustrate but given that Los Verdiblancos are likely to be backed by a vociferous support in their home city, Real Betis will be the favourites to win their third Spanish cup.
