BAYER LEVERKUSEN
- Bayer Leverkusen’s run of six straight wins in all competitions ended with a 1-1 draw at RB Leipzig on Sunday, which is nevertheless a very respectable result.
- Captain Lars Bender will be assessed after missing the trip to Leipzig with a hip problem, but Aranguiz and Diaby both returned to the squad and should start here.
- Top scorer Volland is the only definite absentee, while Wendell and Sinkgraven are likely to continue their rotation at left-back.
UNION BERLIN
- Union Berlin have won four and drawn one of their seven games since the winter break and have conceded just one goal on their route to the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals.
- Midfielder Schmiedebach remains a doubt having missed the last couple of games, while wingers Gogia and Mees are long-term absentees.
- Coach Fischer is not expected to make many changes from the side that started against Wolfsburg on Sunday, although Ingvartsen is likely to be recalled in attack.
THE PREDICTION
These two sides have both been in good form since resuming after the winter break. However, Union Berlin have struggled against stronger opposition on their travels in the Bundesliga this season and Leverkusen, who have won their last five home games in all competitions, should have too much for them.
