Flavio Cobolli continued his strong record at Grand Slams as he advanced to a second successive quarter-final at Wimbledon. However, he fell away against British wildcard Arthur Fery on Centre Court, losing in straight sets and failing to win a game in the third. Cobolli has still achieved real highs this season, having progressed to his first major final at Roland Garros, along with his title at the Mexican Open back in February.
He received a bye in round one and now faces Roman Andres Burruchaga. The Argentine got off to a dominant start as he beat Marco Cecchinato in straight sets. Burruchaga raced clear in the first set and maintained his level to win 6-1 6-4.
