Flavio Cobolli vs Fabian Marozsan prediction

Flavio Cobolli produced a stuttering display but still defeated Alexis Galarneau in three sets to reach the third-round in Toronto. The Italian only registered a first serve percentage of 50% and committed nine double faults but held firm in the decider to win 6-4 5-7 6-4. He looked out of sorts at times against the world number 193 but he’s into round three and now plays Fabian Marozsan.

Marozsan pulled off a surprise in the second-round as he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. The Hungarian trailed in both but recovered strongly, moving Auger-Aliassime around the court with his strong shot selection and coping with the conditions far better. He won 6-4 6-4 and now has Cobolli in his sights.

The head-to-head is 1-0 in favour of Cobolli but this is their first match on a hard court. He beat Marozsan 7-6 7-5 in the first-round of the Madrid Open earlier this year. Despite the Italian being the higher ranked player, Marozsan will definitely be a threat if he replicates his second-round performance here. We would not be surprised if this went to three sets.
