Flavio Cobolli vs Arthur Fery prediction
Flavio Cobolli reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second successive year after defeating Alex de Minaur in straight sets on Court One. The Roland Garros finalist, who required five sets to get past Karen Khachanov in his third-round match, continued to create opportunities on the De Minaur serve and broke on six separate occasions as he won 7-5 7-6 (4) 6-3.
He now takes on British wildcard Arthur Fery after he continued his incredible run at SW19 with a five set win over 2014 semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov. Fery made a strong start but looked on his way out of the tournament as Dimitrov took a two sets to one lead and was up a break in the fourth. However, the 23-year-old fought back to win 7-5 3-6 4-6 6-4 7-6 (7).
Fery actually leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Cobolli in the first-round of this year’s Australian Open, though the Italian was hampered by illness. Cobolli is a clear favourite, but Fery has shown remarkable resilience during the fortnight and will once again have the home crowd behind him.
