Flavio Cobolli vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Flavio Cobolli won yet another close encounter to book his place in the last eight of Halle. After saving a match point against Joao Fonseca in the previous round, Cobolli was involved in another tight match with Denis Shapovalov. He took the first set on a tiebreak, but Shapovalov came back to force a decider. Shapovalov served for the match, but Cobolli broke back, and it went to a deciding tiebreak, with the Italian coming out on top
He will face Alexander Zverev next. Zverev was also involved in a battle of his own as he squeezed past Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian took the first set, but the world number three came back to win 3-6 6-4 7-6. It was an incredible serving performance from Zverev, who managed a first serve percentage of 90% and conceded just one break point.
Their first meeting took place just a few weeks ago in the third-round of the French Open. Zverev comfortably came out on top, winning 6-2 7-6 6-1. Cobolli has impressed this week to make his second ever quarter-final on grass, but he may just run out of steam after two long matches. If Zverev produces a similar serving performance, he is likely to make it through as he chases a first Halle title.
