Felix Balshaw will make his ATP main draw debut after coming from a set down to beat Sebastian Gorzny in his final qualifying match at the Winston-Salem Open. The 20-year-old Frenchman has won three lower-level titles in 2026, and he has moved up inside the top 250 in the world rankings.

He will face Aleksandar Kovacevic in round one. The American impressively won his first-round match in Cincinnati as he came from a set down to beat Karen Khachanov, but he would lose in the next round to in-form Brandon Nakashima. Kovacevic has advanced to two tour-level semi-finals this season, but he has still won just 18 of his 45 matches. Furthermore, he has only seven wins from 17 matches on outdoor hard court. His ranking has dropped to outside the world’s top 90.

Nevertheless, he will be expected to come out on top against the inexperienced Balshaw in the first-round of this tournament.
