Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the second Masters 1000 final of his career after getting past Alexander Bublik in straight sets. The first set went on serve but the Canadian dominated the tiebreak to take the lead. He came from a break down on two occasions in the second, before breaking the Bublik serve for a third time to serve for the match. He clinched a 7-6 (3) 6-4 victory after an hour and 36 minutes. Auger-Aliassime overtakes Lorenzo Musetti in the final spot for the World Tour Finals, and would qualify if he were to win this event.
He will have to get past four-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner. Sinner crushed world number three Alexander Zverev 6-0 6-1 to make it through to his first ever final at this event. The Italian will go back to world number one if he wins it, while it would also be his first Masters event win of the season.
The head-to-head is locked at 2-2, but Sinner has won their last two meetings, which both took place this year. He crushed Auger-Aliassime in Cincinnati, but their US Open semi-final was more hard-fought, though Sinner did still prevail in four sets.
