Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alexander Bublik prediction

Felix Auger-Aliassime moved a step closer to qualifying for the World Tour Finals next month as he ended Valentin Vacherot’s incredible Masters run in the quarter-finals with a comfortable win. The Canadian started strongly and maintained his level throughout, winning 6-2 6-2. This ended Vacherot’s phenomenal 10 match winning streak at Masters 1000s. Auger-Aliassime has been one of the best players on tour during these last few months, having reached the semi-finals of the US Open and won the European Open title less than two weeks ago. He will qualify for Turin if he wins this tournament.

Alexander Bublik will be his opponent. Bublik reached the semi-finals of a Masters event for the first time in his career after battling past Alex de Minaur in three sets. This was a match of few opportunities, with De Minaur edging ahead after the first set tiebreak, while Bublik broke serve for the first time in the match to level proceedings. He profited from a De Minaur double fault when he was up break point at 4-4 in the decider and served it out comfortably to win 6-7 (5) 6-4 7-5.

Auger-Aliassime leads the head-to-head 3-2 but it’s 1-1 indoors. Their most recent encounter was in Dubai this year, with the Canadian getting past Bublik in three close sets. Both players are such strong competitors in these conditions and are performing brilliantly, but Auger-Aliassime starts as the slight favourite, with his all-round game truly flourishing at the moment.
