Federico Passaro vs Daniel Vallejo prediction
Federico Passaro heads into the Chile Open on the back of a second round defeat to eventual runner up Alejandro Tabilo at the Rio Open last week. The Italian had been a Lucky Loser to qualify there and remains a level below the rest of the real contenders for this tournament, despite impressive showings on the Challenger Tour in the last six months.
Daniel Vallejo has come through some tough qualifying matches, where he was the number one seed, to make this tournament with the Paraguayan having come from a set down to defeat Thiago Monteiro before a 6-4, 6-2 win over Henrique Rocha. The Paraguayan had been comfortably beaten by the aforementioned Monteiro in Rio Open qualifying last week.
Vallejo showed some grit and resilience to overcome Monteiro and then qualify over the weekend but it remains the case that Federico Passaro is favourite for this first round tie.
