Federico Coria is set to make his return to the tour at the Argentina Open after being out for nearly half the year with an elbow injury. He is granted a wildcard for this event, with his ranking going beyond the top 300 in the world due to his inactivity. Coria got through to the third-round of the French Open in 2020 and reached a highest ranking of 43 in February 2023. He has reached two ATP finals on clay, losing both.

He goes up against 2021 Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini in round one. The Italian is the eighth seed and is also making his first appearance of the season. He was set to play Alex de Minaur in a blockbuster first-round match as the Australian Open but pulled out of the event at a very late stage. Berrettini is now only just inside the top 60 of the world rankings.
