FPL Gameweek 28 – head-to-head comparisons: Ilkay Gundogan vs Bukayo Saka
Many FPL owners breathed a huge sigh of relief this past Wednesday night as Ilkay Gundogan (£6.2m) netted Man City's third goal as they cruised past Southampton 5-2 in the second of their two fixtures in Gameweek 27. That goal ensured a score of ten FPL points for the heavily owned Gundogan after a blank in their 0-2 loss to Man Utd the previous weekend. Owners of Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka (£5.3m) however were disappointed as they were forced to settle for just a single FPL point after the young Gunners star was booked in his side's 1-1 draw away at Burnley.
Man City travel to Fulham in Gameweek 28, whilst Arsenal host Spurs. On paper, Gundogan would naturally appear the better option having scored 12 goals already this season with three assists also his name. However, the risk is that he will be rotated out of the starting line-up with an important Champions League game on the horizon in midweek. However, against a highly motivated Spurs side who beat Arsenal 2-0 in the reverse fixture, Saka doesn't appeal must as a viable FPL option either. For that reason, we're willing to take on the 'Pep Roulette' and give Gundogan the nod in this one.
