FPL Gameweek 25 – head-to-head comparisons: Bruno Fernandes vs Mo Salah
It feels like you can always rely on an FPL points return from Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) this season no matter what fixture and the Portuguese star netted his third successive Premier League goal for Man Utd and his 14th of the season in their 1-1 draw vs West Brom in Gameweek 24. With 178 FPL points racked up already this season, Fernandes is comfortably the highest scoring FPL asset this season with 16 points more than Mo Salah (£12.6m) in second place. The Egyptian also found the net in Gameweek 24, but in a losing effort as Liverpool went down 3-1 to Leicester.
Both midfielders are at home in Gameweek 25 with Man Utd hosting Newcastle and Liverpool facing off with bitter rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby. Fernandes has racked up 33 FPL points over the course of the last three gameweeks, whilst Salah has accumulated 31 FPL points in his last four gameweeks, including a goal vs RB Leipzig in the Champions League midweek. Both should be fancied to accrue more points in Gameweek 25, but with Liverpool competing in a local derby, they have arguably a tougher fixture than Man Utd, especially considering that they have lost their last three home games. With Fernandes at home and on fire, he gets the nod for us here.
