FPL Gameweek 18 – head-to-head comparisons: Harry Kane vs Sergio Aguero
Spurs forward Harry Kane (£11.0m) got himself back on the goal trail in Gameweek 17 after going three Premier League games without finding the net. A goal and an assist in his side's 3-0 victory over Leeds saw him pick up 12 FPL points, giving everyone a reminder as to why he is current top scoring forward in FPL this season. Meanwhile, we still wait for Sergio Aguero (£10.3m) to make his second Premier League start of the season as the Man City striker only managed a late substitute appearance in their 1-3 win away at Chelsea.
With Brighton at home in Gameweek 18, Aguero would in previous seasons have been a lock for FPL managers in a fixture such as this. However, with no indication of when Aguero will be fit to finally start, we are finding it difficult to commit to picking him. Kane and Spurs travel to Aston Villa, however the fixture has been put in significant doubt due to a large number of positive Covid-19 case within the Villa first team squad and staff. For that reason, we're taking a big gamble and plumping for Aguero in the expectation that the Aston Villa v Spurs game is postponed. If the Argentinian is afforded a start against Brighton, then we're confident that he can roll back the years in front of goal against the Seagulls!
Verdict: Sergio Aguero
