FPL Blank Gameweek 29 – head-to-head comparisons: Illan Meslier vs Martin Dubravka
Two goalkeepers come under the spotlight in Leeds stopper Illan Meslier (£4.6m) and reinstalled Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka (£4.8m). Since Dubravka has been brought back into the Magpies starting XI, Newcastle have conceded two goals in three Premier League games, keeping one clean sheet in the process. Meslier has been an ever present for Leeds throughout the season, keeping nine clean sheets so far.
Black Gameweek 29 sees Leeds travel to Craven Cottage and face Fulham, whilst Newcastle are away at Brighton in a match that neither can afford to lose. Playing away from home doesn't bode well for Meslier, who has failed to keep a clean sheet in his last six Premier League away games. Dubravka in contrast managed a shutout in his only away match since coming back into the side and with Newcastle set to prioritise defensive stability vs the Seagulls compared to Leeds at Fulham, Dubravka has to be favoured here.
