It has been a season to forget for Belgium captain Eden Hazard (€10.0m) with injuries once again restricting his minutes on the pitch, as he made just 21 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions. However, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez is confident that the attacking wideman will be ready for the start of EURO 2020 with the Red Devils set to face Russia on Matchday 1. Hazard has scored 32 goals so far for his country and should he be fit to play vs Russia, it bodes extremely well for his EURO 2020 Fantasy prospects that Belgium have netted 18 goals in their last five competitive fixtures and 40 over the course of qualifying. The 30-year-old may also be on penalties should he be on the pitch although that is by no means a guarantee, with Romelu Lukaku no doubt hoping to take spot kicks himself as he has done in Hazard's absence.
Germany's Serge Gnabry (€9.5m) won't have it easy on Matchday 1 as the midfielder is set to take on 2018 World Cup winners France, who have not tasted defeat in their last 16 competitive matches. Gnabry holds an incredible goalscoring record for his country, having scored 15 goals in his last 20 appearances for his country. However, such a tough Matchday 1 fixture is somewhat off-putting from a fantasy perspective. Ultimately we'd advice managers to wait for further team news to be announced in the pre match press conferences leading into Matchday 1 where Roberto Martinez will no doubt provide an update on Hazard. If he is confirmed as fully fit, then we'd lean towards the Belgian in this one.
Verdict: Eden Hazard
