Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Alejandro Tabilo prediction
Facundo Diaz Acosta competed on the Challenger Tour in Rosario, losing to defending champion Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the second-round. The 25-year-old won the Argentina Open, his home event, as a wildcard two years ago after beating Nicolas Jarry in the final. His ranking has plummeted to outside the top 300 of the world rankings, with injuries playing their part.
He goes up against Alejandro Tabilo in the first-round. The Chilean lost in the first-round of the Australian Open to Quentin Halys but responded by making the final of the Concepcion Challenger in his next event. However, Tabilo, who was the top seed at the tournament, lost to Daniel Vallejo. He then won his singles match as Chile defeated Serbia in Davis Cup qualifying.
Tabilo moves well on clay and though he has not won an ATP title on the surface, did make the semi-finals of the Italian Open in 2024. Diaz Acosta has not reached the same heights since his win here two years ago and will be the underdog.
