Facundo Bagnis vs Vasek Pospisil prediction
Facundo Bagnis made it through qualifying in Toronto after defeating Terence Atmane 6-4 6-4. The 35-year-old is now ranked outside of the top 700 but will feature in the main draw of a Masters 1000 for the first time this season. He mainly competes on the Challenger Tour but is yet to get past the quarter-final stage in any of the tournaments he’s competed in this year.
Vasek Pospisil is participating in his final ever tournament after signalling his intentions to retire in Toronto last week. The Canadian reached a high of 25 in the world in early 2014 and reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon a year later. He has competed in just two events this season, losing in straight sets in round one of both Challengers. Ahead of his last event, he’s ranked 833 in the world.
This is likely to be an emotional end to Pospisil’s career and we expect it to come in the first-round against Bagnis.
