Fabian Marozsan last competed at the Hangzhou Open, winning his first two matches against Alex Bolt and Taro Daniel to advance to the quarter-finals. He will play Zachary Svajda in round one of the Shanghai Masters. The American failed to qualify for the Japan Open after a three set loss to Aleksandar Kovacevic. He also won a Challenger title in San Diego, but he has lost four of his last five matches overall.
