Fabian Marozsan vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction
Fabian Marozsan picked up two impressive wins in Almaty as he beat Luca Nardi and Brandon Nakashima in straight sets to get through to the last eight. However, he would go no further as he lost to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. That was the Hungarian’s most recent event and his best result on a hard court since making the same stage of the Hong Kong Open all the way back in January.
Arthur Rinderknech is his opponent in the first-round. The Frenchman is competing in his first event since making the final of a Masters tournament in Shanghai. He defeated Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev to get there, but he would then lose to his cousin Valentin Vacherot. Rinderknech was set to compete at the European Open a fortnight ago but decided to withdraw. Nevertheless, he is now ranked 28 in the world and has enjoyed the best campaign of his career by quite some distance.
Rinderknech has had plenty of rest after Shanghai and should be ready for the threat of Marozsan.
