Eva Lys vs Nadia Podoroska prediction

Eva Lys was made to work hard for victory over Brazilian hopeful Gabriela Ce.

The German battled to a 6-1 5-7 7-5 win over the wildcard to tee up a second ever meeting with Nadia Podoroska.

The Argentine gave a warning of her danger in the draw courtesy of a 6-3 6-4 triumph over world number 119 Lucrezia Stefanini.

Lys sits just inside the top 100 and did win in straight sets when they met on clay two years ago, but the fifth seed isn’t quite firing on all cylinders at the moment after a brief spell out in July. 

Podoroska has had her own issues with injuries, hence her low ranking, but she has plenty of matches under her belt here and could snare the upset or at least take it the distance.
