Eva Lys vs Caty McNally prediction

Eva Lys is back in action, having not featured since the Australian Open due to a hyperextended knee injury. Lys’ campaign in Melbourne was short-lived, as she was defeated in round one by Sorana Cirstea despite going a set up. The failure to defend points has seen the German slip to 70 in the world rankings.

She faces Caty McNally in the first-round. The American competed in the ATX Open last week, losing to Ashlyn Krueger in the first-round. Her best result of the season so far was a quarter-final appearance in Ostrava, but she has struggled in terms of results elsewhere.

McNally will look to dictate much of the rallies early on, testing Lys’ fitness with extended points, as the German has not featured for over a month. I’m expect a close match that could be stretched across multiple sets, with the outcome depending on who can maintain their level during the key points of the contest.
