Emma Raducanu vs Sorana Cirstea prediction
Emma Raducanu got her grass court season up and running with a straight sets win over Anna Blinkova in the first-round of Queen’s Club. The British number one breezed through the first set, losing just the six points. She did encounter some problems at the start of the second as she went 3-0 down, but Raducanu reeled off the final six games to complete a 6-0 6-3 victory.
She now takes on Sorana Cirstea. The Romanian won her first-round match after a hard-fought three set win over qualifier Maddison Inglis. Cirstea has now won 32 of her 41 matches in 2026, and she is at her highest ever ranking of 18 in the world.
The head-to-head is 1-1 between the pair, with Raducanu leading 1-0 on grass. She defeated Cirstea as a teenager at Wimbledon five years ago, but Cirstea won their meeting in the final of the Transylvania Open earlier this year. Raducanu made a confident start on the grass, but Cirstea can’t be dismissed after her consistent performances this year.
