Emma Raducanu vs Maria Sakkari prediction

Emma Raducanu continued her progress in Washington as she defeated fellow US Open champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets. It was a very strong serving performance from Raducanu, as she won 76% of her first serve points and wasn’t broken. She won 6-4 6-2 after an hour and 21 minutes.

She now takes on Maria Sakkari after the Greek continued her resurgence with a straight sets win over second seed Emma Navarro. There was little to separate the pair and just one break of serve in the whole match, but Sakkari edged a tight first set and dominated the tiebreak in set two to win 7-5 7-6. 

Raducanu dominates the head-to-head, leading 3-0 and 2-0 on hard court against Sakkari without the drop of a set. She defeated the Greek in the semi-finals on the way to her historic US Open triumph in 2021. The Briton has shown glimpses of that level during this period of encouraging form and has enjoyed previous success against Sakkari in the past.
